As a fan of Tom Thompson's work, I set out to study his work buy doing a copy at size of his famous Northern River Painting.
Tom Thomson was an honourary member of the Canadian Group of Seven, although he had died in a canoe accident before they joined up. This is an accurate copy, although the foreground is less detailed and more contemporary. We have had it in our sitting room for 6 months and enjoyed every minute of it being there. Now it is replaced by an original of mine and it is for sale. Painted in oils, it hangs on a subframe system, which gives it a stylish feel, but it could equally well be framed.
