This was drawn over two very bright early mornings in Tokyo, Japan. They were those crazy bright mornings when I needed to hide from the direct sunlight and also wear sunglasses to draw the scene. I chose this view because I liked how it was almost framed by the taller buildings at each side, allowing a glimpse of the smaller structures in this area between. It was very interesting to see the nearer structures clearly in their original colours whilst the early morning daylight cast the further buildings and parts of the city in a pale blue dawn hue that would disappear as the morning progressed. As the colours of the buildings further away were revealed it was almost like a duvet cover that had been put over the city during the night was being slowly taken off as they woke up to start their day!
