Extended title: “Together, the two of us alone against all”

Two trees, close together, seem to embrace. The magenta refractions of the setting sun illuminate their trunks. Around them, all the bushes and other trees in the forest seem to be up to something. The two trees are afraid, but together they feel they can face anything.

Dramatised by the vibrant colours and typically Expressionist brushstrokes, the painting is dedicated to the union and love of a couple that sustains and protects them against the adversities of life.

The painting was executed in the studio in August 2023. It is a reworking of several studies done en plein air.
The work is painted in oil on rough paper, then mounted on 100% linen canvas on a solid fir frame.
The signature is in the lower right corner.
The painting is protected with a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin wooden frame to protect the edges. It is ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"Together, the two of us alone against all" is a literal translation of the original Italian title "Insieme, noi due da soli contro tutti".
