About the artists:
Kev Munday:
I am a 28-year-old artist living and working in Basingstoke, Hampshire. My artwork is the offspring of people watching and imagination. My goal is to make people think and smile at the same time and I hope that my work communicates as much to a seven year old kid as it does to a serious art collector. I have been painting since I was a teenager and exhibiting my artwork for 8 years, showing in venues including The Southbank Centre, Selfridges Ultralounge and Summers Place Gardens (Sotheby's Sculpture Garden). My work is in private collections all over the world and I am fortunate enough to be able to produce art work full time.
I have created art for brands including Walt Disney (a custom Mickey Mouse figurine), Monster Energy (a large scale mural), Graham & Brown (a wallpaper) and Fracture Skateboards (a range of skate decks).
I started my artistic career as a graffiti artist, however I have always thought of graffiti more as a medium than an artform. Graffiti taught me to paint very fast and at a large scale, and also to see any object as a canvas. I still regularly paint murals with spray paint and am inspired by the energy and colours of graffiti. My other artistic influences are very varied, ranging from aboriginal art to kawaii graphics. I am also interested in huichol, tribal and other visionary artwork.
I work with a wide range of materials and processes, including spray paint, acrylics, marker pens, laser etchings, lino printing and digital art.
Kazland:
"PRIMAL. CHILDISH. NARRATIVE. I tell an abstract narrative. Animals, creeps, broken-toothed grins, bones and treasure, re-worked and re-painted until they resemble what they should. Working from everything around me with the materials nearest.
