"To a Wild Place" takes you walking through the beautiful warm colours of the moors. This place is close to my home and is one of my regular haunts where I hear the sky lark ascending, the curlew and the cry of lapwings. With a hazy sky and tones of purple, green and red in the wild bracken your eye will wander over the textures in the foreground to the delicate clouds in the distance with the sun low in the sky. Painted in high quality acrylics on a thin edged canvas, "To a Wild Place" is ready to hang, or can be framed. The edges are painted white. I use impasto techniques applied with a palette knife or brush, creating a contemporary effect, which lies between realism and abstraction. Some areas of the painting have rapid expressive strokes and underlayers of paint are visible.
