The Hebridean Island of Tiree, or the Sunshine Island as Scots fondly refer to it, truly has a lot of sunshine. Standing on outcrops of rock and looking across at the huge and growing waves in the beautiful turquoise bay waters is a sight to behold, with that Tiree sun illuminating the wave face and spindrift.
Tiree Wave 2 is a tribute to those wonderful waves and is captured in acrylic and oil on canvas. In a limited palette Paul has created a shimmering texture in stippled subtly different colours, with the spindrift and white water created in a random and splattered manner to create the movement.
