Artwork description:

This two-block linocut design has proved an unexpected bestseller for me! Previous colourways have sold out, so I have printed some new variation editions, this time using three colours as opposed to two. I have done that by printing the second block twice, masking different areas each time. Colours are tricky to pin down, aren't they? - but I would describe the colours in this edition as lichen green, pumpkin and turquoise. They make for an edgy, eye-catching print.
The design was inspired by an image of a friend’s cat, and also by the patterns created by some wild grasses found in the Hampshire countryside near me. My friend travels a lot and is away for long periods, so when she is home and goes out, the cat sits waiting for her.
I love the shape of the cat from behind, don't you? The image is golden rectangle proportions. I have printed it in other colourways too - please see my page for separate listings. Wouldn't it make the perfect gift for a cat lover?
