Painting of a beach at low tide. I have a strange relationship with the sea. On the one hand I love it, the mystery and the romance has always intrigued me. I often think of all the stories of the sea including pirates, sunken treasure, mysterious sea creatures.

Then on the other hand I am terrified of it. The prospect of getting lost at sea and not knowing what is swimming beneath me is a great fear....and yet this makes it prime painting material for me.

Painted on canvas with thick oil paint.
