After becoming a Christian at the age of nineteen, I have faced all that life has brought--the good, the bad, the ugly, every challenge, joy, failing and blessing--by daily leaning into my faith. I don't know how I would have gotten through some of it, if not for the Lord. So, out of gratitude, I have painted "Through It All" as my reflection on the ways faith overcomes and carries us through all circumstances. This painting began as earth-toned watercolor vertical panels, into which five bars were collaged [columns of Scripture passages printed on gold paper: (Isaiah 40:29; & 41:10-13), Deuteronomy 31- 6-8, (Psalm 27:1 & 34:17-20), 2 Chronicles 20:17, 1 Timothy 6:12, etc.]. This collage was mounted on canvas and then over-painted in oils and cold wax, using a bold, primary palette. I'm amazed and grateful, as I look back on what the Lord has carried me through, and I offer this painting--first and foremost--for God's glory. I also recognize that each of my brothers and sisters is walking your own path, and though our individual stories may differ, the miracle of God's victory, as Jesus carries each of us "through it all" is the source of our universal praise. This painting has received a satin varnish for long life, and hanging hardware is already installed.
