Through eternity (Diptych). Immortelles (1) Unburnt (2) ORIGINAL watercolors. 56x38cm (22x15in). The artworks are unique and one of a kind.
These two artworks are painted in a botanical style. In the language of flowers, I wanted to convey the idea that our Ukraine was and is an Unburnt Bush, thanks to the Immortal Heroes who gave their lives for it!
Immortelles (1) 28x38cm (11x15in)
Everlastings or immortelles (Sandy everlasting) are common in Ukraine plants with golden yellow flowers. The flowers last almost forever when dried. They are like a symbol of eternal life. Those who died for the freedom of Ukraine in the past and today are Immortal Heroes. Remember them forever! I depicted the plant in a blue-yellow frame (the colors of the Ukrainian flag) like a portrait of a dead person framed. But only the body is dead! Next spring its seeds will sprout and bloom! And blue butterflies will fly over yellow flowers again!
Unburnt (2) 28x38cm (11x15in)
Unburnt Bush is a popular name for an interesting plant Dictamnus albus L. which grows in Ukraine. Bible says: There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.
For the Ukrainians, this plant is a symbol of unbreakable and invincibility. I depicted the plant on the background of a frame like an Icon of the Unburnt Bush.
