This painting is a metaphor for the struggles that we all face in life. The human figure is in the process of trying to get through the awkward geometric shape and just about squeezing through with some manoeuvring. It has a slightly raised surface in places as it was painted with a palette knife and the bright, raw colours make a strong contrast to the black and grey background.
