This is about taking the time to do nothing, an activity that can have unexpectedly productive results. Two of the seagulls here are cloud watching, and the other is coming to see what’s going on. It might be a family group.

There are 3 colour layers in this print, each printed separately by hand. Each layer is drawn or painted onto film and then photographically transferred onto a screen, a nylon mesh stretched on a frame. it then acts as a stencil, allowing ink to pass through some areas of the screen, and blocking it in others.

This is a three colour screenprint on Fabriano Rosaspina paper.
