This is a large impressionistic oil painting painted in a modern style. The oil painting is of Poppies in a black Chinese vase sitting on an orange table. This is one of a series of Eastern influenced paintings. I love their colours in their silks and artifacs. It is painted mainly in purples, deep blue, oranges and reds. There is a reflection of the poppies in the mirror to the left which I wanted to include as it fitted the composition of the painting and gave it a sense of depth. I enjoy the freedom of still life paintings as I can explore the colours and semi abstract feel. This is a large painting with vivid colours and will brighten up any room. It is painted on a deep edge canvas , strung and ready to hang.
