Artwork description:

A new Reduction Linocut inspired by people and their relationship with the sea.
Here three mermaids are dancing with small multicoloured fish and distant columns of weeds. I printed the mermaid's fish tails in silver ink.

This reduction linocut process uses one large piece of lino and a set number of pieces of paper. The lino is carved for each colour and printed by placing the lino exactly over the previous print. As the block is destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted.

Materials used:

Lino printed on 200g Snowdon Cartridge paper using water washable inks
