As I’m from India, I grew up seeing women who are under confident, are burdened with expectations and need to treat men superiorly. As a gay man I could relate to issues of patriarchy and masculinity that suppresses anyone other than a heterosexual male in India.
I always found Carla as a strong independent woman who sports a thick eyebrow, not caring about stereotypical standards of beauty of women and I always identified her through her brows as it comes across as a sign of confidence and strong individuality.
