Original artwork description:

This piece is inspired by the chaos and emotions of everyday life. I wanted to capture that feeling of tension we all experience between what society expects from us and what we truly feel inside.

Viewer’s Experience: I hope people connect with the raw energy in the painting. I want them to feel like it speaks to their own struggles or passions, and maybe even makes them think about the messiness and beauty of life.

Choice of Medium: I used acrylic paints because they dry quickly, letting me layer and create textures fast, which keeps the energy in the work alive. The thick paint adds texture, making the emotions in the piece feel more real and raw.

Subject Matter: The abstract, distorted figures represent human emotions in a way that’s open to interpretation. They stand for confusion, hope, and defiance—feelings we all share.

Style: Neo-expressionism was the perfect style for this because it’s all about raw, emotional expression. The exaggerated shapes and wild brushstrokes reflect the intensity of human emotions.

Materials used:

acrylic and oil sticks
