"This Wild and Rugged Moor" takes you walking through the beautiful warm colours of the moors in Summer. Living in the Peak District this is one of my regular haunts where I see the sky lark ascending, hear the curlew and the cry of lapwings. With a hazy sky and tones of purple, green and red in the wild bracken your eye will wander over the textures in the foreground to the delicate clouds in the distance. An original artwork, one of a kind, the painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas, the sides are painted white. I use impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife, which creates a contemporary painting, lying somewhere between abstraction and realism. A frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
