This series documents a process of figurative reinterpretation that starts with photographs of iconic Hollywood actors from the Golden Era, taken by Leo Fuchs during the 50s and 60s. Attracted of the contrasting idea of intimacy and privacy, while being a very recognizable and famous persona, I’ve chosen images that depict intimate moments of the actors at the time, reinterpreting them in oil. The paintings incorporate many imagined textures and patterns, as if being the creation of each character imagination.
Thinking: Based on a photograph of Cary Grant, taken in Hollywood 1964.
