Thessaloniki and Athens made a very contradictory impression on me.

The grandeur of antiquity and the richness of Byzanian temples coexist with standard buildings, faceless office buildings and shops.

Ubiquitous graffiti appears wherever a person's hand can reach.

Unlike Athens, where the ancient heritage is very clearly visible, Byzantine culture dominates in Thessaloniki.

The warm gold of the mosaics, the attentive and stern glances of the saints, the slower pace of life and the tranquility of the city’s inhabitants - this is what I carried in my heart and then embodied in this painting!
