Original artwork description:

There’s something in the air is one of the many 'swing' artworks I've made. It represents the freedom you feel as a child.
At the same time, it shows how locked up the children live today. Inside, behind their laptops and smartphones.

This mixed media / collage artwork is made with layers of acrylic paint and magazine paper. Arranged over each other in such a way that a deeply layered whole is created.

The inspiration for this technique is the torn posters and peeling paint found on old city walls.

Materials used:

canvas, collage, paper, acrylic, glue, pastel crayon
