In the realm of dystopian romanticism, a road leads into a dark forest. It winds into the black trees, being the brightest blue just before it gets swallowed by the sunless woods. Until the very end, the curve reflects the light of the shining turquoise sky above.

My paintings are built from a mixture of Caspar David Friedrich's romantic paintings, film stills, Hudson River School Paintings, and contemporary suburban photography. The main importance is the mixture of beauty and looming threat. I seek to light scenarios which draw attention to the mood of a specific time of day. Each Landscape holds its own open-ended narration. A story to be found.
