Original artwork description:

"The hole story is dɪsˈɡʌstɪŋ (disgusting)" is a work of art that delves into the emotional complexity of family stories, revealing the invisible tattoos and scars left by years of pain and some hope. Comprising black-and-white photographs, the piece preserves the privacy of those involved, while the figure of the daughter is visible and recognizable.

This work is dynamic and customizable, allowing each viewer to derive their own interpretation, or perhaps none at all, as the intention and meaning are deeply personal, It is not an exercise in the artist’s performance but a reflection of what is intrinsically human and authentic. The artwork is provided with a set of 5 to 10 images, which the client can select through direct messaging after purchase, adding an element of interaction and exclusivity to the process.

The images are arranged in a set of recycled frames, originating from a past relationship marked by resentment and separation. Once discarded and isolated, the frames have been repurposed and painted in dark blue, forming a unique composition that breaks away from traditional symmetry, subtly suggesting a reference to Mondrian’s squares without being directly inspired by them.

Cutouts and collages using the inner papers of the frames complement the piece’s aesthetic, creating visual layers that overlay the emotional narrative. The juxtaposition of photographs that evoke a story of sadness alongside those that suggest a hopeful future gives the artwork a depth that is both intimate and universal.
