Tucked away like a tiny hidden kingdom is the white Spanish courtyard, a place of tranquility, of timelessness. Muffled sounds from beyond, and from within comes the gentle rhythm of Andalusian life, the melody of a piano, the sounds of the kitchen. The air is scented with jasmine and bougainvillea, with a hint of lemon and garlic. The walls each have their own texture, their own hue of white, little patches of delicious shadow.
The work is a welcome splash of summer, a reminder of the warmth and joy the future promises. The painting makes a perfect gift and a great souvenir of Spain.

Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
