In a quiet room before the wedding, a pianist sits at his piano to rehearse. The wooden-clad walls gently retain the summer warmth, and the air is redolent with huge bunches of flowers, and the scent of polish and wax. Outside, trees and foliage lean closer as if to hear. A few minutes of solitude before the party assembles. The work is rich in realism and detail. Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
