Original artwork description:

A Statement Piece. 28" x 28" oil on canvas.
Thick oil paint is applied using a palette knife, pebbles have been added in the foreground to give texture to the seashore.
This painting follows a very large commission; the painting developed as I discussed it with my client and the image struck me so much I painted another similar one.
In the course of the painting I discovered the poet Derek Walcott who came from the Caribbean and gained the Nobel Prize for his poetry. His poem The Sea is History is reflected in my work, he writes about 'The Moiling Shelf' which conjours a vision of the waves in turmoil.
The painting has just been completed; it will be varnished and supported in a floater frame.
