Artwork description:

Created in Walthamstow, London.
This artwork was especially created for an exhibition about things that are lost and found - Artsnug Gallery in Walthamstow (Nov 2023).

It features children splashing in a fountain in front of The Walthamstow Town Hall.

I explored the idea of a secret garden, and a child's delight of discovery. This wood engraving captures an enchanted moment in front of Walthamstow Town Hall - children playing and splashing in a fountain after dark. Artsnug says about the artwork: 'she captures a feeling of excitement and renewal – as this area has recently been refreshed with the removal of the old fountain and a new communal area.' The artwork is handcarved and printed from a 15x15cm piece of lemonwood.

Each artwork has the studio chopmark in the right hand corner and is signed in pencil with the edition number, title and signature.

Materials used:

Somerset cotton with gold ink
