One of my favourite reasons for visiting alpine towns and villages is that I am presented with unusual perspectives and viewpoints due to the steep slopes that they are often built upon. Looking down upon rooftops and balconies with a steep path winding through, particularly at night which rewards the scene with pools of light and dark mountains beyond, these scenes seem more storybook than reality.
This drawing is based on several places that I've sketched and photographed, particularly in central Switzerland.
