Original artwork description:

This painting was inspired by a friend of mine showing me a photograph of his childhood home derelict and roofless - it was so at odds with his memory of it I painted it whole again and warmed the scene up with watery sunshine and forget me nots and Iceland poppies from my own garden. Wrapped around with cherry blossom symbolic of spring and youth.
