Original artwork description:

This watercolour represents the many voices we carry with us each and every day. These can be the voices we carry from those we are close to, those we have met and hung around with, those who come into our lives for a short time and even those we have read, watched, listened to from our books, films, TV and music.

This image brings together a varied range of voice from history of those who lead the right to be heard - standing up to be heard and to stand up for those who have little or no voice. These women of colour who fought for the right to vote, suffragettes of America, seeking to be seen and heard in the world, call to us through their 'herstory' and make known their importance to the fabric of society and their voices that resonate in the present.

Each person has been layered on top of one another with watercolour, blending, mixing and becoming one.

Materials used:

Watercolour on watercolour paper.
