With a semi-abstract painting, where the artist is including a recognizable figure with pure abstract forms and color, the problem is always to mate the two in a way that makes both components compatable. Here I am using the female figure, her instrument and the sheet music as a departure point, leading to the less definitive shapes and colors of the bulk of the painting. I have kept most of this painting within a pallet of warm, earthy colors while making the dress a somewhat contrasting red.

THE VIOLINIST 3 is a one-of-a-kind, original work of art. It is produced using acrylic paint and India ink. The sheet music and some other item of the background have been digitally reproduced and laminated to the back of the translucent 4 mil archival grade mylar and then the portrait and other items were painted over the background. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
This painting will be shipped in a tube. The artwork is very easy to mount on any type of board: plywood, masonite, foamboard, etc. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell and also I include mounting tape, a hanging strip and a drywall hanging device. Everything that you need to mount your painting except the board.

If you prefer, I will mount the artwork on one inch foamboard with a two inch border all around. It will be “ready to hang”, with a hanging strip attached to the back and a wall hanging device that is very simple to use. It will be shipped in a cardboard box. You may take it out of the box and have it hanging on your wall within five minutes. The extra charge is $120 for mounting and packaging and the additional shipping costs.
