The Venus of The Hague – 11-07-20
This one is a variation on a previous drawing ‘The Venus of The Hague – 29-05-20’ but then constructed out of basic geometric forms only: the circle, cube and triangle. Through this one I show what controlled and distilled passion may bring. It is within the reach of abstraction that I want to express the essence of the female body. There is a slight reference to atmospheric depth though and that is why my sort of cubism is like a whale is not a fish.
Graphite pencil drawing (Sakura 0.5 mm, 3B) on Talens Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) - A4 format)
