The Venus of The Hague – 07-06-20 (sold)
Today’s my birthday and I thought I’d offer you something different: a special treat. Since the last variation was abstracted to the point I did not want to go any futher, I decided to do this realistically. All of a sudden I saw the scenery of Déjeuner sur l’herbe in front of me and in stead of the bathing woman I saw Batseba (Hendrickje Stoffels by Rembrandt and one thing lead to another. Hence this drawing.
Graphite pencil drawing (Sakura 0.5 mm, 3B) on Winsor & Newton Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) - A4 format)
