This painting is from my Ashdown Forest series, expressing the open land that is Ashdown - a vast area of gorse, heather, bracken and paths woven into the dry ground by countless walks. In this painting, I've used burnt sienna to represent the bracken covered earth, and lilac for heather which permeates the landscape.
The piece began its life in acrylics, afterwards finished with oil paint accents.
The painting comes simply framed in a pale wood floater frame, ready to hang.
