This group of works were created on -Vellum-(is translucent plastic or paper in thin sheets that can be clear, white, or coloured,being thin enough to allow light through.)
The idea that with this medium that light passes through is exciting!
You can hang or fastened to glass or hang in a light box or any colour you mount it on comes through!
My Drawings are gestural and contour like and in this mode of creating work I place my mind in a cubist state.
It cane to me a few years ago to place your pen or mark maker and let it go, let the mind and the pen wonder in particular direction, not attaching to anything.
The drawings take on the look of contour drawings and become gestural when you implement the idea or theme of let's say the human form.
I get comfortable with let my mark continue,crossing over a space and back from the top of the paige.
OUT OF THIS TECHNIQUE AND STATE OF MIND I HAVE DISCOVERED A RELAXED WAY THAT ALLOWS ME TO PRODUCE MANY SUCCESSFUL WORKS.
It's endless!
