"The Turquoise-browed Motmots (Eumomota superciliosa)" is an original, one of a kind fine art silk painting in the Serti (closing or fence) technique. Silk painting is the art of applying dye (paints) to silks. I'm using German silk paints by Marabu, Javana and Deka, and the Gutta, a water-based resist to keep the color within the outlined areas of the design. After drying, the silk paints are heat-seated (fixed) with an iron, which increases the intensity of the color. In addition, the silk gives the painting a glossy effect thus adding a unique animation. All my finished silk works are meant to be framed pictures, not wearable art. They will be shipped to you unframed in a small water-proof bag. It may be advisable to lightly iron the painting once more at the framing studio, before framing. Note that I'm offering free shipping for all silk paintings purchased from my ArtFinder shop.
