Original artwork description:

Extended title: "The trees watch the sky (but each in its own way)"

On both sides of the path, different groups of trees point their trunks towards the sky, as if they wanted to reach it. But each group points in its own direction, different from the others.
Despite the common goal, the groups seem different and at odds. As if some kind of politics or religion had crept into their lymph, creating cohesion and division at the same time.

Created in the studio in September 2023, this painting is a reworking of several studies done en plein air.
The work is painted in oil on Masonite, a panel made of pressed wood fibres. Masonite is a material that was widely used by artists in the first half of the 20th century as a support for their paintings, because it is extremely resistant and crushproof. I love painting on this material because its very smooth surface allows me to achieve effects that cannot be achieved on other materials. I also have the guarantee of high durability.
The signature is in the lower right corner.
The painting is protected by a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin black wooden frame to protect the edges. It is ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"The trees watch the sky (but each in its own way)" is a literal translation of the original Italian title “Gli alberi osservano il cielo (ma ognuno a modo suo)”.

Materials used:

Oil on Masonite
