The clock is ticking. When Tin Man was cutting down trees, the oil can vanish. He needs oil to keep his equipment running. Tin Man cuts the politically driven trees that are constantly competing with one another for light and shade and never able to reach equilibrium. Larger branches emerged on Oak trees to deliberately block sunlight from reaching Maple trees. The maple trees were happy in the shade. The oaks sprouted more oaks around the maple trees because they became overly jealous. The oaks were left to swelter in the direct sunlight without any shade because the maples had marched on. The maple trees were robbed of sunlight and shade because the oak trees grew too big and greedy. Tin Man finally chopped down oak and maple equally to keep the forest in order. Tin Man, however, needs help with the oil or he will rust and lock up.
The Trees, which has a Tin Man of my own vision in the beautiful fall landscape. It was entirely built in 3D software; all props and figures are modeled with a camera and lighting setups for rendering. I utilize Photoshop filters to add vintage effects, muted hues, and loose brush strokes to evoke a surreal atmosphere, and feel, like in my most recent composition. Art collectors may notice a symbolic reference to surrealist painters such as Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte.
This collection of witty, out-of-the-box thinking, and thought-provoking artwork from the Surreal series.
smooth white aluminum print, direct print on metal panel, satin finish with controlled light reflection, floating back frame for hanging
