Three Graces in an unusual beach setting!
I like to return to this theme of the Three Graces frequently because I love their stories in Classical Mythology ...
I've set the goddesses in front of a seascape of dark clouds, blue water and rich golden sand.
Rain is falling on the (yet) still sea with a little sail boat is on the horizon but I think a storm is brewing because I've made a very black sky with swirling clouds and these beautiful goddesses' hair is blowing in the breeze. One has blond hair, one brown and one black hair.
Sketched loosely in white Caran d'ache watercolour pencil, painted in Winsor & Newton Professional watercolour on grey *Khadi paper - with various colours of pencil to highlight the image: purple, russet, yellow, brown in their hair and blue in the clouds (see photo).
Available *unframed, wrapped in acid-free tissue, protected by lightweight but strong foamcore, wrapped and sent promptly and securely by tracked delivery.
All my artworks are sent with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
*A note on framing: some buyers choose to leave the deckled edge visible and 'float' the image with a mount/matt perhaps 2cm/0.5 inches away from the paper. I've created an example in Photoshop as to how this would look, as well as another CGI image of how the painting would appear framed in a room. (see photos)
*Khadi handmade cotton rag paper from India is 210 gsm paper with a pretty deckled edge.
watercolour, gouache, Khadi 210 gsm paper
