The three altitudes is an irregular triptych conceived so that the various panels fit together, creating a puzzle effect, to make the complementarity between the subjects represented also visually. Among the aspects that most fascinate me of the alpine environment is its intrinsic variety: it is a 'vertical space', subject to much more sudden changes than perhaps any other type of place on earth, but even if it presents itself in very different forms after a few hours of walking it keeps intact - if not increased - its charm. Think in contrast to the plain, which always remains the same for hundreds of kilometers, and where the only differences are often generated only by human action; this artwork instead combines different alpine environments determined by the altitude for which each part corresponds to an example of landscape at an altitude of 1000m (valley floor), 2000m (meadows and pastures) and 3000m (perennial snow). The painting is inspired by personal reflections and experiences, as well as by reading the novel "The eight mountains" by Paolo Cognetti.
