An article about “the red thread of fate” from the East Asian culture inspired this painting. A person is born with an invisible red thread around a finger connecting to the one destined to meet.
I believe everyone is connected with everything in the universe, even when we don’t see a red thread linking us. As Covid-19 has shown, a tiny virus has the power to transform every life. It forced everyone to see the invisible thread that connects us all.
I created this piece with three words in mind connectivity, hope, and resiliency. It feels that, perhaps, Covid-19 is teaching not to take life for granted. Possibly, it is teaching us not to take anyone for granted because we are all link. Maybe, just maybe, these hard times are showing us a way to be hopeful for a more inclusive and brighter future. Guiding us to be resilient and responsible humans. I wonder, what is our greater mission in this universe? Can we create a better fate for everyone?
