In this painting, combining realism and surrealism, I wanted to emphasize that the image can be deceptive, and reality differs from expectations. On the one hand, it attracts with its detail and realistic depiction of the durian. On the other hand, the surreal element adds a sense of dynamism and unusualness to the painting, creating contrasts between the expectation of taste and the unexpected visual transformation, as appearances can be deceiving. Durian, known for its unpleasant smell but tasty flesh, symbolizes unmet expectations, and the liquid substance that looks like molten silver symbolizes surprise. Green colors create a sense of freshness and naturalness, while gray-blue shades add a cold, metallic sheen to the painting.
With this work, I wanted to arouse your curiosity and encourage you to think about the nature of expectations and reality.
