This is a watercolor sketch of grown up Kaveri. She is our stray turned pet cat, who stays near our main door or relaxes on the silver oak tree like a panther, but is very shy and she does not enter the house. She is the only surviving sister of our dear Kuppu who has been missing since a year now. Kuppu, the most affectionate cat.

Kaveri is also the younger step sister of our black cat Kasturi who is from the litter just before the one to which Kaveri belonged. Her mother, a Tortoiseshell stray cat, had littered many a times and used to go around with her kittens from house to house begging for food Then she came to ours with Kasthuri and her two siblings, one black which was adopted by someone and the other grey tabby which was found dead, probably in a dog attack. After her last litter of Kuppu, Subbu and Kaveri we somehow managed to get her sterilized. After some weeks she went missing, may be shifted residence because we had too many cats by then. I have to make a family tree of my cats someday!
