This picture was drawn over two very hazy days in Koashiung, southern Taiwan. On the first day I drew it was extremely hazy and the taller buildings in the distance were only visible as grey shades in the haze. I actually thought the picture was finished after the first day but something didn’t seem right about it. I liked the view with the colourful smaller older buildings in the foreground and the more modern buildings in the background, and so on the second day as the sun started to come out and clear the haze away I added more to the picture. It was easier to see the higher buildings in the background appearing out of the haze as the sky began to turn blue and I liked the extra colours in the scene. That is why I decided to work on it again and add more detail into it.
