Waht you get as a first thing in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, NL is a plan how to find your way through the historical museum building that actually covers a busy street inside itself. The plan is clear, easy and obvious and no matter that the majority of the visitors hold the plan in their hands, you end up meeting the same people several times
in the room with the starry ceiling from which they head the unwanted direction to end up after a while again in the room with the starry ceiling. On my third passing through the starry ceiling room I took a picture of it and used the stars as a navigation :-) Up to now, I think there is only one starry ceiling in the Rijks museum.
GALLERIES COLLECTION
When visiting various galleries I like to capture some detail on my photographies that reminds me of the place. Because of my respect to the rights of the authors (and their successors) I do not take pictures of the artworks but really keep the memory of the place and moment in taking picture of something related belonging to the gallery. It can be window, flowers, just something that reminds me of the place and time I experienced surrounded by the art. When seeing the photo, the art I saw and my impressions pop up in my mind and I experience the visit of the gallery again in my memory.
