Original artwork description:

This is the seventh painting in the series about Foreigners Everywhere.

I heard this man and his son having this conversation at the entrance door where the son was saying Daddy we are always first to get ready! He then replied , yes son and now we must wait for the girls to get ready'!

The Man looked at me as soon as I walked past them and we grinned at each other. This is not where the story ends!

So the gentleman enquired, 'Are you not coming to the party?' I just said, 'No, I get bored'.

He was surprised and said, 'my wife went out in the afternoon and purchased a dress for herself and our daughter!'

I'm still listening, his wife heard our conversation and hurried out and told me in a justifying tone, all my friends have seen all my dresses, if I buy a dress for myself will my daughter let me get away without buying her a dress? I gave a nod of agreement to the lady and said, 'Bro is generous why would you not buy a dress'?

Why I did this painting? Well, I wonder if women will ever catch up to men in this regard. A man inspires his son to be carefree about his appearance by being so cool in any outfit. Must a dress be well-fitting or should it always be brand-new? Women are competing with one another to flaunt their appearance like celebrities, which is a big deal for them. It also makes me wonder if young girls are being taught to set high, time-consuming standards. The idea of self-approval is absent!

A viewer without any of this background story would be amused looking at the painting because the man is ready with his son and the wife and daughter are still busy with one last glimpse in the mirror.

The painting has small motifs and elements supporting the central theme. The painting has layers of color and I like the process of creating a mixture of abstraction and figuration
