The Snowmaiden, Isle of Skye

This image of a huge snowcloud over the small island of Rona in the far north of Scotland brings light and drama without overpowering. Golden tones as the sun hits the top of the cloud and the calm sea below.

I made the image on the top of the cliff at the north end of the Isle of Skye after following the cloud as it moved across the sea showering the islands with gentle snow as it drifted.

For these special small editions of my work I use Canson Aquarelle Paper which has a lovely watercolour paper texture. Using this paper and combining it with the fabulous non-fade Ultrachrome inkset of 9 colours, I can produce a print of exceptional quality which will last a lifetime without fading.

Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, Canson has the choice of many famous artists such as Picasso, Ingres, Chagal and Miro to name but a few.
