Artwork description:

Collagraph print

A set of 4 collagraph prints.

Each print is 14. 5 wide x 19.5 each image size 6 x 8.5

Framing suggestions has displayed in image or in a long row.

The inspiration of this artwork was from a recent snow fall and the variety of different birds taking shelter in the garden. It made me think of all these little birds making incredible journeys from as far away as Russia and Asia. They look quite small but very resilient.

I was reminded of the story of the snow goose, making its way from Canada to Britain and being rescued by a young girl. The final image of the goose is looking over the girls shoulder towards the sky, ready to make its journey to warm climates.

Printed on 250gsm cartridge paper .

A Collagraph print is one made from a plate with different textures. The printing plate is made from mount board. The process is a combination of intaglio and relief.

I created a collage of my image using fabrics, glues adhesive and then sealed and dried before printing. The beauty of this process is the way all the colours merge together when printed and no image will ever be the same.

This artwork is sold unframed
