Original artwork description:

A "still life" oil painting of the Basement studio/gallery of our home in Brynmill, Swansea, with some of the tools of the trade on the window sill and the basement steps and hanging ivy behind.
I loved how the sun light was sort of suspended, like smoke, by the smudges and dirt on the window pane, and how it created different colours.
The shafts of shadow and the black metal handrail add a dynamism and vibrancy to a still, peaceful scene.
