Despite the surreal images, I wanted to create a painting that would evoke a sense of calm with soft colors of the sky and the smooth movement of shells in it.
For some people, these shells can be associated with summer memories of the sea, vacation, and evoke a slight nostalgia. Or perhaps flying shells will be associated with the idea of traveling, discovering new worlds, as in fantasy stories.
Yes, this painting is a visual metaphor that can have many different interpretations.
It's as if you see images from dreams, where the logic of the real world is broken, and unexpected objects appear in unusual places.
That's how these flying shells, light and exquisite, seem to float in the air current like ancient sea creatures, symbolizing the passage of time and the evolution of life on Earth, and at the same time contrasting with the geometric lines of skyscrapers. This juxtaposition, to a certain extent, symbolizes the clash between nature and civilization, the past and the future.
