One of my painting as my pseudo : Romain Héjé, when i walk through the garden to the old barn where i paint on sundays when everyone left.
The model for this painting is a black and white newspaper photography of a young girl from italy. she seems scared and not aware of being photographed. It lasted just a few seconds. I like the idea of doing a painting from this instant, giving it some kind of duration as if to remenber her. It says something about anonymity the right to represent, a complicate matter. Do i have the right to paint this photography ? It was in the newspaper. It was relevent to me, that at first i had to paint this very photo of poor quality on poor paper. This poorness was actually this reality i was after with painting. The picture has a light smooth silky varnish almost mat, streched on the canva by the artist.
